If you are from outside of the EEA and you are travelling to the UK on a temporary basis to conduct business activities, you may need to apply for a business visitor visa.

A business visitor visa allows the holder to enter the UK for a maximum duration of 6 months (12 months for an academic visitor) in order to conduct a ‘permissible activity’.

Permissible activities include (but are not limited to): attending meetings, conferences, seminars or interviews; negotiating and signing deals and contracts; gathering information for employment overseas and carrying out site visits and inspections.

Employees of an overseas based company may travel as a business visitor for the purpose of advising and consulting, trouble shooting, providing training and sharing skills and knowledge on a specific project with employees of the same corporate group.
