If you are from outside of the EEA, aged 16 or over and you have been offered a place on a course in the UK, you may be eligible to apply for a Tier 4 (General) Student visa. You will need to be sponsored by an approved education provider.
This visa allows you to undertake your approved course of study. You may also be permitted to work; this will depend on the level of your course and the kind of sponsor you have.

How long you can stay will depend on the type of course you are doing.
Dependants
You may be able to apply for your dependants (husband, wife or partner and children under the age of 18) to join you. This will depend on the type of course you are doing.
Settlement
The Tier 4 category is not a route to settlement in the UK.
