EU citizens and their family members currently remain free to live, work and study in the UK.

If you are an EU/ EEA national, or an EU/ EEA national family member currently residing in the UK/ arriving in the UK prior to 31 December 2020, and you wish to remain in the UK beyond 30 June 2021 you will need to apply for verification of your settled/ pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme.

If you have resided in the UK for a continuous period of 5 years, you may be eligible to secure settled status. Otherwise, you will be issued with confirmation of your pre-settled status until you have completed the required period.

You will need to apply even if you currently hold a Permanent Residence document. However, you do not need to apply if you hold Indefinite Leave to Remain/ Indefinite Leave to Enter, or you are a British citizen.

Pre-settled/ settled status will allow you to work, study and use the NHS.
