There are different ways to apply for British citizenship, depending on your circumstances.

If you are married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen, you must hold Indefinite Leave to Remain/ Settled Status under the EU settlement scheme, and you must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years before you will be eligible to apply to naturalise as a British citizen.

Alternatively, if you have lived in the UK for a period of 6 years, and you have held Indefinite Leave to Remain status for a period of 12 months, you may also be eligible to naturalise.

Some countries do not allow you to hold more than one nationality. Therefore, it is important to check whether you will need to renounce your existing citizenship before you commence an application to naturalise as a British citizen.
